Do you have an oil change schedule?

I drive an average of 1000 miles per month. My last oil change was on April 13th at just under 236k miles, because I hit that milestone on April 16. I am at 238,080 miles tonight about 2 months later. So getting an oil change at this time next month is my plan. Works like clockwork for me somehow.

I think it is too soon for you to change the oil. Depending on the car, you don't have to do it every 2 months or after just driving 2000 miles. If you have a modern car, you can refresh she oil or every time you have driven 6200 miles. Or refresh it once a year in case you don't drive a lot and haven't reached that number. Otherwise, driving only 2000 miles and refreshing it every 2 or 3 months means you're wasting perfectly capable oil.

I find it comical that people follow the 3000 rule.. My own two vehicles say oul should be changed 10k mile intervals.. Yet they throw a three k mile sticker on anyway lol. It's how these lube shops make more money. I change my oul when the owners manual says not when some lube shop says.

No, just every time the service lights comes on. I just follow the manufacturer recommended scheduled with the exception of the gearbox oil that is supposed to be 'sealed for life' but which I get changed every other service.

my husband says if you use that synthetic oil, that you don't need to change oil for 5000 to 7000 miles. He changes the oil in our vehicles.

I have a love-hate relationship with places that preform oiL changes, and car repairs in general. I've found the less I take my car to them. Then the better repair my car remains in. I'm not saying that they deliberately break s***. But I am saying is a lot of them are incompetent at their jobs.

I usually change it once a year around July, since I drive a lot less than you (around 10k km per year, 6200 miles). I’ve a trusted mechanic with whom I fixed a yearly schedule for car general checkup and oil change.

At least you have a schedule maintenance program. More than most! Good for you!
Oil change intervals depend on the type of driving you do. Hi ways or stop and go.
The type of oil that you use. Full synthetic or petroleum.
And even the type of vehicle that you drive. Hi performance or otherwise.
I use full synthetic and usually change it once a year since I only drive less than 10K a year per vehicle.

I used to change the oil in my cars every 3000 miles. I have read so much info about not doing it until 5000 miles that I have made that my new schedule. I will be due in a few months it appears.

My monthly mileage is so erratic, I can't just set a date for my next oil change. Just have to watch the odometer.

I run full synthetic oil in all my vehicles. I Change it religiously every 3000 miles or 3 months whichever comes first.

Yeah every 10,000 because I use full synthetic but every 5,000 check filters and rotate tires

1000miles per month? Where do you drive? Suppose to be roughly every 3k miles. But you should just check your oil , to see if black or dirty.
