What would you do if you got tricked into sacrificing your own child?

I know it's just a movie and fiction but this scene still gets me:

What would you do if after your 8-10 year-old child got raped, your own sister (the child's aunt) tells you they're going to restore their innocence but doesn't go into details and when you get to the place, you realize they's fanatics that actually want to kill your child in the worst way ever (burning your kid alive) but it's too late. They won't let you in and they're taking away your child. What would you do?

In this scene the mother got out to call the police and get help ASAP. However it was too late when she got back with the cops. The damage was done.

yeah that must suck. Even though the movie it's fiction, I'm picturing myself on that woman's shoes. She's been living with the guilt (of failing to protect her kid) for 30 years. She had no idea that restoring a child's innocence meant burning a child to death.

She really thought her sister had good intentions and that they were going to help the child after the rape scene... not burn her alive.
