Being a stranger, what is the best thing you have done for someone?

I followed a car because they were driving on the wrong side of the road. They pulled over into a subdivision and I walked up to the stranger's car. It was an elderly lady who was confused and could not find her way home. It was January, it was cold and dark. I asked her if she wanted me to drive her home and she said yes. I had my husband follow us. I got her home. I didn't know her name but I had her address. Through social engineering, I found her son's phone number and explained what happened. He was extremely grateful for getting his mom home.

It was about 9 pm on a Friday night. I was going to see a girl. I thought I saw a small person walking on the side of the highway but Passed her before it processed in my brain.

so I turned around as soon as I could and went back.

it was a 9 year old black girl with her backpack full of clothes. I asked where she was going. She said she was waking to South Carolina to see her mom. South Carolina was 100 miles away. I asked if I could give her a ride. She jumped into my truck.

my girlfriend house was a mile away.

we went there. I told my girlfriend what was going on and she talked to the girl while I called 911.

cops came. They contacted the step mom, who by this time was frantic.

in the end the girl was reunited with her family. Dad was stationed in Korea. She lived with the step mom and step brothers. I guess they treated her like Cinderella so she ran away.
im glad I saw her when I did.
