Years ago I was hitchhiking home on a Saturday afternoon. It was one of those rainy spring days that if it was a couple of degrees colder it would be snowing. It was raining hard as I stood on the on ramp trying to get a ride. I was drenched through in about two minutes and it was difficult to get a ride, I imagine nobody wanted to let this wet guy mess up their front seat. Finally somebody stopped to give me a ride. He gave me a ride all the way to the end of the expressway. He asked me if I wanted a ride the rest of the way which was about three miles. I was a little suspicious about this guy and I did not want him to know where I lived. I knew it would probably be a three mile walk home. Then the guy stops and lets me in his car. He said that he took the next ramp of the highway and turned around. He said that he figured that I would have a hard time getting a ride.
So I thinked him for stopping and he gave me a ride the rest of the way but I had him drop me 2 streets past the street I lived on. I still had a funny feeling about this guy,
I used to deliver clothes in the city. All the clients were very wealthy. This one guy the elevator opens and I'm in his kitchen looking at him cook dinner.
I said "hey, this might be a rude question but, what the hell do you do?"
And he kinda smiled and said he owned a production company. Which I told him that's my dream. Everything I do is for that goal.
He sat down and talked with me for 20 minutes. He told me about people, myself, running a business. I broke into tears in the elevator on the way down. And a few months later I met the guy I started a production company with.
I still wonder if we'll ever get to work on a project together one day
People did many kind things for my, probably more kind things than unkind ones but I'm not really kind to other people because every time I was kind, those people thought I have a weakness for them.
A guy paid for my gas. It was a day I was short on cash.

In Aruba, we took a taxi to this mountain and some rock formations, then became stranded in the middle of nowhere with no ride back.
We walked up to some random house where there was a family sitting on the porch, and asked if they could call a taxi for us. One of the guys, who was spending Sunday with his family, took 30 minutes out of his day to give us a ride back to our hotel.
I ran out of fuel on the Autobahn (a bit dangerous and against the law). A guy stopped, asked what the problem was, drove to the nearest gas-station and brought me a 5L canister with fuel. Wouldn’t even accept my money when I wanted to pay him.
A random guy stopped when my vehicle was broke down. It turns out he works at a dealership that sells my same brand of vehicle. He called one of his service workers to come assist me, and they never charged me anything.
Nothing for me personally, but I do remember as a child probably in 1988, My mom's car broke down on the corner of 10th and King Boulevard. Black ghetto. They came over and poured water into the radiator and made sure we got on our way. I learned that color doesn't matter, but the attitude that people bring.
Given me a ride to wherever I was going, came to help me call an ambulance and check to see if I was okay after slipping on an ice-covered sidewalk and landing on my ass, saved my life when I was drowning in the river.
Car broke down in the middle of a crowded highway and a stranger helped me push it to side of the road
Strangers gave me birthday presents. Users here, askers marked like to my answer!
Gave me a ride to the auto parts store when my engine blew up 1000 miles from home, after about 100 people did not
Do you mean F**ker Carlson, the white supremacist pr*ck? H**L to the NO!!!
Taught me to be a survivor and not a victim. Arguably one of the most influential chats over a coffee that was ever had.
I dont trust others, or their motives
