Usually get some noob who just follows a guideline of speeches. Always recommends you to some generic organization or help system that is expensive or doesn’t work. Not sympathetic or organic. The people who are suicidal or have mental health issues aren’t right in the head. You can only do so much for them. They need to have a will of their own to help themselves or be put in a loony house.

Yes, and it pisses me off that it wasn’t covered as fully or widely as it should have been. Whenever there’s a prominent case, everyone is all happy to ‘boohoo’ for likes on social media, but by comparison almost no one shared the 988 change.

@exitseven perhaps not the person who needs the help, but those around needing assistance when in the presence of someone out of hand that has mental institutions illness. I've been in that situation and called 911. Most cops aren't experienced when dealing with the mentally ill. They are very rough on them, like they are criminals. One cop thought that I was the one with the mental illness and he was down right cruel to me. He wouldn't turn the lights on so we could see, and he kept flashing his 🔦 flashlight real close to my eyes and wouldn't stop. I had a 5 year old girl with me and she went pee because he was scaring us so bad. Anyway, maybe the 988 people will have some training more than the cops have.
