ancient Maya
Besides having to save myself from Horny
Zeus and trying to keep my head attached
with the Mayans I think it would be fun lol
i really dont want to live in any other time than now but if i had to live somewhere back then i guess maybe sparta since that's really the only place i know girls actually had any rights at all and could do pretty much whatever they wanted. the living conditions were actually pretty alright for back then like they apparently had some stuff like showers, running water, flushable toilets, heaters, heated floors, fridges, plumbing, etc, plus the weather is nice and there wouldn't be any wars or anything so it wouldn't be too horrible
Sparta ended because they literally could not stop being at war. Check out the Helot revolts if you want to see one example of why Sparta was always at war.
@Sixgunsound i know they had lots of wars but they were very far away from the actual city. that's what i meant. since i'm girl it's not like i'd ever be in danger because of that
Sparta famously trained women in boxing and combat sports to be able to kick invaders backsides if the men failed to do their jobs outside the city walls.
Out of sheer curiosity, pre-colonial Philippines.
My heritage is Filipino and after 400 years under Spanish rule and then immediately being under Japanese, then American, occupation has fucked with Filipino culture a lot.
I'd love to see how my ancestors lived before all this external influence fucked up our belief systems and culture.
Our folklore and stories are so unique and vibrant, I'm sure ancient folklore and practices are even more exciting.
the Olmec... or whichever ancient civilization would precede them as well
we really don't know much about the true ancient civilizations of (Northern) Mesoamerica as much if not all of their evidence was erased by the Europeans or other tribes
these civilizations could have had 8000 years of history, but we only know some about the last 3000 only, so yes... I've always been intrigued by that and we might just never know, lol
Ancient civilization I'd definitely go with the ancient greek world as well, athens or Macedonia would be my choice in terms of places, if it's just going back in time probably golden age of piracy, here I have to look classy all the time, back then I'd look like absolute shit and still love it

I would want to live in Norman Sicily, just diggin’ their vibe 😊
What city in Ancient Greece @Literalbillionaire17? Mycenae? Athens? Alexandria?
Ofc Athens
This is a tough decision. My friend says my brother and I would have been barbarian warlords if we were born 3000 years ago. If I was to go back in time, it would have to be a civilization that values life. I don't really want to watch a bunch of poor bastards die, which happened a lot. Maybe go back in time and watch them build the terra cotta army and the first emperor of China Qin Shi Huang's tomb, or ancient Egypt and watch them build Ramses's temples
Most people would become very disenchanted with the past if they had to live in it. Things like no indoor plumbing, no aspirin, no clean water, questionable food, etc. would rapidly dispel the romance many people have with the past.
israel for sure. watching david go up and chop goliath's head off would make not having indoor plumbing worth it. plus it was cool for a man to have more than one wife and since i enjoy girls too things would be a bit simpler.
I love the Zeus statue and Hera statue meme. 😆
I’d love to live in the Ancient Greece civilization as well and maybe the ancient Egypt civilization. Ancient India is a little intriguing 🤔 it’s a flip a coin kind of thing lol
Thanks though! You’re exactly right about the other two civilizations having more architectural substance to view.
Ancient Alexandria were Egypt and Greek meet, and I do mean before Jews and Romans ruined it.
I liked how Greek and Egypt shared a god between seemed diverse and not the typical we will kill you because you have different god bullshit.
I would like to live in prehistoric times.
One where family is valued, divorce doesn't exist and men where seen as what they actually are and how valuable they are for survival of the people.
No toilet paper, no tooth paste and no showers, I'll pass haha
There’s always leaves and rivers
I agree about ancient Greece. My favorite stories were about the Trojan War, Jason and the Arogonauts. I used to read a lot about the Greek God's.
Hera was Zeus's sister, so maybe that's why he always went after other women? Lol
I don't want to live in none of them. Too many crazy royals breaking into your house killing, cutting your fingers, dicks or raping your kids and you have no Lock on your door. I am happy to be born now.
My modern (lack of) skills would probably end up getting me killed. But Atlantis. Or Europe…. Too many places there to count.
Hum, Atlantis is probably based on the Minoan settlement on the island of Santorini.
Santorini is a vulcanic island, and there used to be a cone inside the bigger caldera that forms a ring island outside.
If there was a settlement there that would fit the description given of Atlantis.
And the islands vulcano blowing up probably took part in triggering the bronze age collapse, especially of the Minoan civilization, replacing them with Mycenaeans.
It's a pretty decent choice.
They where a advanced people, with plumbing among other things.
Bronze age technology, but with some technologies that still wasn't widespread in England when their settlement in Crete was first excavated.
And women seem to have been respected there and have rights as far as we can tell (we still haven't figured out how to read their texts)
I wouldn't mind visiting ancient Egypt, Greece, Peru/Incas and Mesopotamia. Places like Machu Picchu for sure interests me.
I think ancient Rome would be very interesting if I was living among the elite in the city.
Either the Egyptian, Minoan or Etruscan civilizations. Women enjoyed equal status in those societies before the Greeks and Romans installed the patriarchy.
Which was part of Western Civilization for 2000+ years.
The Etruscans, but long before Rome appeared.
I'd go for Rome, at least they had running water, wine and decent food.
I would want to live in either. It's would lead to an early death.
First 100 years or during the error of Apostles in the Bible
my mom is from spain abs we got to visit when i was younger. the countryside is lots of old villages and cool castles i wish i could go back to when they were in use.
