Does anyone know what is the difference while driving a car with narrow or wide tires?

I was wondering if a car with narrow tires saves more gasoline or not. Also if the ride is less comfortable

Stability and handling.

Faster cars tend to have thinner but wider tyres to grip the road better. Smaller cars tend to have smaller and narrower tyres.

There’s more factors to it, but typically narrow tires use slightly less fuel. Ride depends on diameter and sidewall height, not width

Oh I see it's just that I am restoring a classic Volkswagen Beetle and I noticed that the original tires are very narrow but most people want to have them wider than that.

I bought some really wide tires for my Chevy tahoe. They were closeouts and handled well in the snow. They were good in the snow but murder on my gas milage.
