If Mesopotamia (Iraq) is the "cradle of civilization", would that make the Levant (Syria) the "womb of civilization"?

Because while the first cities and governing bodies arose in Mesopotamia, advances that allowed civilization to arise such as agriculture began in the Levant.

Syria and iraq are both artifical post colonial countries named after a geographical location and its inhabitants are arabs who came there during islamic conquests from deserts of saudi arabia and yemen.

If we look at history of that geographic area , yes in ancient times there was many civillizations there but modern day inhabitants of syria and iraq are not descent of people who builded those civillizations infact they are descent of the ones who destroyed those civillizations.

Given that the Sumerians beat them to the punch by over a thousand years, the Tryptillians beat THEM by centuries more, the inhabitants of Skara Brae were going strong when THEY were hanging from trees by their tails, and Mohenjo Daro had a functioning sewer system, better than modern Delhi's, before THAT, it's not so much "cradle of civilization" as "place that has surviving records".
