Are you trying to catch them or repel them from your home? Mice trapping seems to be the most effective method. There’s a high chance that a single nice is not alone.
Mice tend to travel with their entire family and odds are you may have upwards of 20 mice living in your wall cavity. Mice are breeding machines - Two mice can breed into 1.5 million in just a year. You can try humane trapping that does not involve killing them in the process, but if you’re anything like me, I just use mice glue traps. If you’ve spotted plenty of mice, it’s best to hire a professional to handle things.

Depends on size, and quantity.

If it's just a mouse or two, then sticky mouse pads will be easier and cleaner than mousetraps.

If it's rats then get a couple of cats. Those Siamese cats are evil bastards, and will hunt and kill any number of rats or mice.

Potato flakes with baking soda & sugar. You have to put water with it. Makes their stomachs explode

If you get some red apple cider vinegar some dawn dish soap I. A spray bottle spray it 3 times a day under your kitchen and bath room sinks or any place you think they are coming in do it for about a week and they will never come back

Mice hate metal, so find where they are coming in and use some steel wool to plug up any holes. You can also buy poison, but make sure its nowhere near pets or human babies. I just caught one last week with a sticky trap. Once they run over it, they aren't getting away.

A good cat mouser will get rid of mice, but many cats are so domesticated today that they don't know how to do that. I've always had good luck with spring mouse traps, baited with peanut butter.

standard mouse traps bait with peanutbutter, mouse baits, but then you run the risk of them dying between the walls and they smell for about a week, get a cat that is a good mouser, or a 9mm.

I am a fan of the old fashioned spring traps using peanut butter for bait. Cats also do a good job.
