Why do unmarked cop cars park in handicapped spots?

I just watched a uniformed officer get out of his car while parked in a handicapped spot. The dude could barely get out of his car. Am I missing something? Are handicapped officers on the force? There was no handicapped parked sign on his car or license plate. I've seen this twice now. They park real quick because it's up front so they can get in and out and not have to look for a spot like everyone else.

I've seen people take pics and post on Facebook. Creates a real Shit show for the city.

If there's an emergency that involves my loved ones, I hope the cop doesn't delay in response time because he had a long walk to his car or because he spent 15 minutes just finding a spot and is running behind as a result. I admit, his job is definitely more important that whatever I have going on.

We have these things called fire lanes that are right next to every doorway of every commercial building. The handicapped spot would be a long walk

Nothing stops me from taking a pic of them getting into their car while they're parked in front of the handy cap sign. Nothing illegal about it. lol

Cops are there to take money from civilians for traffic violations. The idea of a cop paying for a traffic violation defeats the entire purpose of a police department and so no one will ever expect a cop to do so.

That's just pure laziness, and they know they won't get ticketed.

Report it to the station. If they’re on a call and it’s urgent though. Then. They parked there to get in faster.
