Some people have poor spatial recognition. Some people are lazy and don’t give a shit, haha. And sometimes, it’s almost as if people aren’t paying attention at all.
My semi-related parking pet peeve: I like to park in the back of parking lots so as not to get dinged by runaway shopping carts or other car’s doors. Sometimes a like-minded person parks back there with me... but literally in the spot next to mine, completely defeating the purpose🤦♂️ Like why not park one spot down? Or diagonally to me, if it’s a spot where two cars can park behind/in front of each other, if you want to be in the very next row, just pull all the way up or don’t, depending on where I am. Just preserve the situation where we can’t ding our doors, is that so hard to understand?

Umm... lots of reasons.
I always hated it when others did it and I still do but I just got a different vehicle and I'm having a harder time than usual getting used to the reference points inside of my vehicle to determine where I'm actually situated in the parking spot... so, I started parking way away from the entrance to the store so if I screw it up I won't be close enough to anyone else to bother them.
They never learned/learned just for the test and then promptly forgot once they got a license.
Meanwhile, I'm here with my Honda Fit able to squeeze into spaces and park well thanks to the repetitive practice my dad had me do while he was teaching me to drive.
Remember, kids, learning a hard skill and practicing to keep it up makes you better than average!
Don’t even get me started!
I had an old woman park diagonally next to mine today, and open her door into my car🤨
My boyfriend has current issues with a neighbour parking each of his 2 cars over 2 spaces (per car). He’s been asked nicely to park inside the space but he’s refusing out of spite, and probable lack of skills, since the car is chunky.

It appears to be a simple lack of effort.
I am sorry I have really bad spacial cognition and depth perception I do my best :(
Okay I ask myself the same question literally everyday and my conclusion is that
A) some people have just gotten to the point that they literally don't care
B) they're old or in a rush and literally can't see what they're doing is bad
C) they need to get that license revokedNot knowing how to park is only the beginning. I often wonder how so many bad drivers got their license in the first place.
It’s just plain laziness if you park that awful. If they are basically just horrible at parking and know you didn’t park correctly you should try your best to park right or practice your parking more.
Cuz They're morons that drive and park like they got their license out of a crackerjack box 🤷🏼♀️
Yeah, some people just aren't meant to drive, but (esp. in car-culture jurisdictions) they are forced to do so.
And the sad thing is that's just parking. Have you ever turned right in a 4-lane intersection, only to have a far-away car in the opposite side race half a horizon's worth of road, cross the 4-lane intersection's central square & into your intended side, drive over the island at full speed, and cut into your lane as though it were all normal? This is how I used to park when I was 17. I’ve learned to do better.
That just looks like the guy or girl that owns the car didn't give two shits or was in a very big hurry
It's actually NOT hard to park properly. People make a conscious choice not to park properly because they do not want to be inconvenienced to do so.
Because of Americas biggest crisis, laziness, way too many people just don't want to put in the effort to fix it and don't care.
The first words I spoke to my driving instructor were “Everything I know about driving I learned from Grand Theft Auto. Now show me where the gas peddle is.”
The look on his face was priceless 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂They are not comfortable or confident enough in their driving skills. They over think when it comes to parking and get worried that they will hit something.
Sometimes it's because they don't care. But I do think if the road is bumpy in the parking space then that'll just make it more of a challenge to park correctly.
The same thing happens in the USA people never park right and some wonder why police give them tickets
They might be new drivers or have anxiety issues or be sleep deprived
Laziness and dog shit driving to go with poor depth perception.
Because they just don't care. Whatever is right for them is right.

I would say they're not good at organizing space, they don't care about other people or getting a driver's license was a mistake.
I just hope that something's wrong with them and it's not cause they're being an dick
