I am driving cars for years but I always avoid tight parking spots because I am terrible at it. How can I get better at this?
Here are a few tips that might help you get better:
Practice in a low-pressure environment: Find an empty parking lot where you can practice without the stress of other cars waiting for you to maneuver. Use cones or boxes to simulate tight spots and practice pulling in and out until you feel more confident.
Adjust your mirrors: Make sure your side and rear-view mirrors are properly adjusted to maximize your visibility around the car.
Use reference points: When you’re practicing, pay attention to specific points on your car that align with the parking lines or landmarks as you get properly into a spot.
Take it slow: Rushing often leads to mistakes. Take your time when you’re parking. It’s better to approach slowly and adjust as needed than to try to swoop in quickly.
Consider technology: If it’s really a big concern, and your current vehicle isn’t equipped with parking assist technologies, it might be worth looking into cars that offer features like backup cameras or automatic parking assistants for your next vehicle.
Before you know it, you’ll be sliding into those tight spots like a pro!00 Reply

Anonymous(18-24)+1 yPractice. I'm not special, but my driving, especially in tight spaces, impresses people. When going to town and such on personal stuff I drive small cars (used to be a fiat 500 but now a kia rio) but for work I drive 1 ton+ pickups and large tractor/cutter or tractor/ baler combinations.
When I had to drive one of dad's 1 ton duallys to pick him up from his back surgery, I turned around a tight turn and into a covered drive and the nurses were impressed because apparently EVERYONE runs over the curb... dad just shrugged and told them I drive bigger stuff every day for a living (the hay cutter is 15 feet wide.
My point is, I get a LOT of practice, so, just practice what you're not good at, maybe get couple of cones and find an empty parking lot. If it's parallel parking specifically the truck is to align your rear axel with the rear bumper of the lead car, turn your wheel all the way in the direction of the curb, reverse. This will swing the nose of your car away from the space and put your car in sideways. When your curb-side rear tire is just past half of the width of the rear car from the curb, turn the wheel all the way AWAY from the curb and reverse, this will swing the nose of your car back straight and aligned with the rear vehicle.

+1 yPink profile... you can't get better at it. No visual spacial. Sure you can name colors I can't even fucking see like different shades of purple and shit... But you will never be able to drive like me. Que my song whamen...
https://www.youtube.com/embed/8k2AMDvugzwSo you see how my brain manipulates this system to make the AI pick me as the superb opinion? (words, pic, vid)... the woman equivalent becomes a moderator and bans anyone with a better answer than them or in fact uses their own profiles to give them a great MHO%. They ban me when I see them but I blocked them already so they don't even see me. Don't ask me what they're driven by. I'm driven by making myself laugh the next day by all the stupid shit I wrote... or at least nod when I drop nuggets of knowledge. We don't get paid for this... I do it for amusement and I'm amused... they do it for some power fantasy.
See... I won't get your MHO, because I started out dissing women, but if you did... I highly respect your ability to read.
But I will let be known that I did lay it all out... the differences... I laid it out and you either gave up on your reading skills or now you know something new.
I hope that helps and I love and respect you if you made it this far.

to be honest, if I can avoid tight parking spaces I would. I’m the type of drive straight into a parking spot and move up. That way I can just pull out forward when ready to leave. I don’t wanna side park, I don’t wanna parallel park and I definitely don’t want to back into a spot00 Reply
The problem lies in your perception of depth and distance, and I have the same issue. I don't think there is much that can be done about it though. :(

+1 yNot everyone is good at parking. I know a woman that can't even back up in a straight line, yet her driving record is perfect, no incidents.
It's important to learn what each of us is good at, and what we are not, and learn to live with our strengths and weaknesses. Sure, try to improve our weaknesses, but sometimes that just isn't possible.
In this case, you can practice parking in a safe environment. Go to an empty area of large parking lot and repeatedly try to park forward and reverse into one of the lined parking spaces.

+1 yPerhaps you drive a car type that does not match your skills.
Women parking jokes are around since ages; it's a common thing apparently.
But I know very skilled lady drivers, too.
I think it has something to do with interest, motivation and self confidence.00 Reply - 2.4K opinions shared on Other topic.
+1 yPractice makes perfect however don’t screw up practicing because it can end up costing you or other vehicle owners. Truthfully cars are changing & I noticed that parking isn’t easy especially when it comes to new cars & blind spots.

+1 yEasy. Go to a car park that is quiet and just keep practising until you can get inside the lines and work out where your car is in relation to the parking point. It shouldn't take you more than an hour tops!

I have noticed for years now that the smaller SUV's have such small back windows and some have some kind of visor or something on the top making visibility even less.
Then when you add the big head rests on the seats, you loose even more visibility.
I go for the big back window cars.
+1 yFind an empty parking lot and start parking in the parking spaces. backwards, forwards try to parallel you'll get better honey stay positive.
