+1 yNo, I just have to have it 'resolved' in my eyes. Imagine we both disagree on something, no matter what I say, you're going to disagree with it, so whether or not I get the last word, I don't mind agreeing to disagree and leave it at that. I already said what I wanted to say, I'll move on from the argument.

Nor am I afraid to hear the other person's side - just the opposite; I'm happy to shut up and let them say what they want to say, and I'll listen and pay attention - I just ask that they agree to do the same with me afterwards. Then I have my say, and often, I get them to see things my way. Sometimes I can't, and we agree to disagree. And sometimes, they can't handle it, and they storm off, maybe calling me names or threatening me. All that means to me is that they know they lost, and are trying to distract everyone from that fact.
But, here's the thing: I want to hear their side first, because OCCASIONALLY I'll learn something from them that I didn't know, that changes MY mind - and on those occasions, I'll say so, and I'll graciously give them their win. If I was wrong, I have no trouble admitting it - I just care that I was right AT THE END, even if I had to change my mind to get there.

u +1 yit usually happens... but not because I have to get it, they just run out of arguments, realize they were not right after all... or get tired of throwing insults because they cannot longer sustain their point, lol
once they lose focus and start throwing crap... they're just tiring themselves out, lol23 Reply- +1 y

1.4K opinions shared on Other topic. Nah.
What I hate is being constantly interrupted and the other person refusing to listen and trying to dominate the conversation. Or someone who's so ADHD that they just don't stop talking or ranting.
But I don't care who has the last word.
I am big on closure, though. Not resolving anything, and repeating the same stupid conversations or conflicts over and over, feels like a colossal waste of time with that person.

I've gotten better at just letting things go and letting others have the last word though20 Reply 1.2K opinions shared on Other topic. I honestly don't. Many times, i want to because it feels good but nah. If i kept arguing with my mom, i'd come in like auntie beth and be like "AND ANOTHER THING!" shakin' my cane and shi after this shi was like 3 weeks ago. xD

+1 yI can tell when someone has reached the end of their supply of prepackaged talking points when the shrillness or overall volume of their voice increases or the hurling of insults begins in earnest because they have nothing left. At that point I feel comfortable claiming victory because they would have made any points they had left to make before then.

+1 yThe last word when having an argument should be I'm sorry, or let's figure this out. it drives me nuts when people try to throw another jab in at the end before stomping off.

* Some thing worth noting: did the argument ever need to happen in the first place :-)
+1 yNo. It’s nice to say your peace (for yourself) and just let them squirm a bit longer till they figure it out the reaction attention is gone.
21 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Other topic. Nope… But don’t test me. 🤣 I don’t back down either. If you’re not worth my time and breath, you can argue alone 🤣 idgaf

+1 yNot really. Someone has to say the last word, and it matters not which one. I just want to get the most of what the argument is about. I’m constantly hungry for knowledge.

+1 yI don't insist on the last WORD - but carry an 'argument' until all relevant things are said.
My preference is the last LAUGH :) (often: after a few days have passed...)
