Why aren't adults allowed free candy on Halloween?

Like I know since we're adults you could just buy some but it would be nice to get free candy on Halloween, but apparently adults "aren't allowed" to go trick or treating (at least from what I heard some places have age restrictions). Especially with prices going up, it would be nice.

Because our Candy is quite different and that never comes free. First there’s a costume and then 🍸🫒 🍸🍸🍸 and then Trick 👻 or Treat

They are. You just impose a "candy tax" on your kid's spoils from a night of trick or treating.
