Do animals shed tears while crying?

I have read many scientif ic articles on this and they all say that only human beings shed tears while crying. But I have seen many different animals with tears in their eyes in times of fear and sadness.

What do you think about this?

I have yet to see a deer 🦌 turn around look, beg, and start crying 😭 Nor the dogs, when one beats the other to the quail. I don’t think they cry

Animals can create tears, But I think that's only to lubricate their eyes. I don't think they shed tears out of sadness. I could be wrong though.
