Historic research in my area shows that it has been populated continuously for the last 2000 years. So, yeah... everything, and I mean everything, is walkable here.

There are 2 small grocery stores, but they're real expensive, downtown is McDonald's, banks, 3 drugstores, Fox Pizza Den, Pizza Station, Angelo's Bar & Restaurant, Italian Village sells Pizza and Hoagies, There is a Thrift Store, Manor (High rise) Couple doctor's offices, place to get blood drawn, Fire Department & Police Department, there are some Churches, We have Dollar General & Family Dollar, dog groomers, Hair Saloons, Barber Shops, etc.

Its walkable, but there is not much to see that 's interesting. There are only condo complexes, some paths, streets, is a mall and restaurants that you have to walk a bit to get to, some stores, but besides that it's kind of boring to walk through. However, it is walkable.

Not very... I guess? It's very safe and you can go on walks/hikes if you want, but you wouldn't be able to walk to the store or to work. It's very rural - no sidewalks or streetlights. There's no public transportation so it would be unreasonable not to have a vehicle.

My area has a lot of walking and hiking paths. Ironically none of them intercity ones extend to my side of the city. But we have the huge park and mountain trails. Keeps the crowds away unless they drive and fit to park.

The area that we live in is considered quasi-rural, so it is not walkable in terms of proximity to stores and other necessities. It is very safe and enjoyable.

We have lived in urban areas in the past that were very walkable, but that was early in our marriage. Those areas don't seem quite as safe anymore when we visit.

I think as some of the major metropolitan areas continue to expand, safety can become an issue, however, in lesser populated states and areas, safety can improve.

The downtown area is walkable everywhere, but walkability is pretty uneven in the residential neighborhoods. Some have a pretty good network of sidewalks, a few do not.

That’s how it is here too.

The area I grew up in on the other hand was another story. I always laughed when I’d see random sidewalks that spanned like 50 yards

Some of the older neighborhoods had houses that were torn down, including sidewalks and driveways, then they were completely rebuilt and re-landscaped but for whatever reason they didn't replace the sidewalks. So there are places where there's a sidewalk, then no sidewalk, then sidewalk resumes.

I live just outside of the Lake District National Park in the UK it is very walkable, there are high and low level foot paths and pack routes that pre-date the roads in the park. The park is small by US standards but can tax even the most seasoned of walkers.

We have some nature trails here. The only unsafe part of walking on our small town's roads are that the summer tourists will run you over.
