To be clear, I'm talking about proper footpaths like in the photos not the type you get in public parks or normal sidewalks/pavements.

Yeah we have quite a few, some are old from when the fens would flood, others more modern
The Angles Way, that includes waterside and heathland walking, was devised by the Ramblers and, together with the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path and Weavers' Way, it forms the triangular 228-mile Around Norfolk Walk. The Angles were an ancient people who lived in East Anglia.
we also have some random ones that cut through strange places lol.
Then you have the Drovers ways, some are fairly hidden away.
In my area of Northern California, we have lots of mostly paved footpaths that cut through neighborhoods and often are routed through city parks. There are sections that become normal street sidewalks in areas between cities before transitioning back to dedicated footpaths cutting through neighborhoods again. I could walk at least 2 cities in one direction and 5 or 6 in the other with only short stretches being along the streets.
These paths are intended for walking, jogging, or cycling, and motor vehicles of any kind are prohibited (though on rare occasions some teenager will take their dirt bike on them).
My area is too densely populated to have many paths through open fields like your pictures, though 50 years ago, it certainly did. My town had 28,000 residents in 1974, and 108,000 today.
I don't know tbh I think we have paved footpaths more
Here, it’s mostly trails.

There are trails that go for miles, are recognized by parks services and appear on GPS. But i’m fairly certain they’re all on controlled land. You couldn’t build on top of one incidentally and unintentionally invite randos to walk through your bedroom. Which i think is probably for the best.
We have a large network of mostly paved interconnected paths that cover the entire urban and suburban area where I live. You can travel over 20 miles (30 km) without leaving a path. The paths are fir walking and bicycles, no motorized vehicles.
Having spent some time in the UK, what we have is not the same as a public footpath.
Out in the country, the land is privately owned and trespassing is frowned upon.
We have a few. There's an old rail line where the rails have been removed just up the road from me. I often head there to walk or bike. I can head away from town or bike into town and I don't even have to go on the roads.

The closest thing to a footpath is a public beach access where I live & it takes you from the street to the beach.
Yeah we got a couple but they are mostly in the woods or rugged terrains where a lot mountain bikes ride there bikes and people go for a morning run. They are posted with signs to giving them funny names.
Sure. I mean London is about as far from rural parts as the UK gets, but there are still footpaths through the less developed areas.
Lots of trails, pathways, parks, preserves, beach paths, biking paths. I really have it good tbh
We have a few. Of course we also have lions and leopards and gangsters...
There are but they often abruptly end somewhere it happens to be really inconvenient to not have one.
ya gollywog brits , get those reptiles out of the island
Do you even know what a golliwog is? I doubt it since you can't spell it. May I suggest you Google some images.
Lots of paved bike and walking paths in our neighborhood. Lots of hiking trails in the hills and mountains surrounding our neighborhood.
Yes, where I live, we do have public footpaths but it all depends on your skills to live if you will be alive or dead at the end of the day.
We have paved walkways. If you cut through someone's yard, you might get shot
I’m really not sure. I think so, but maybe I’m thinking about “trails”.
I am in a place called "The borough of parks". we got one by my house..
How about nice stroll on the Moors?
