If you dropped your phone in a water , Do you think if you put it in a rice will help?

Oh yeah. When I was 14, I damaged my phone (blue vivo air) in that way. So I left it in rice for like a week+ & would constantly check on it to see if it worked. And one day, it started working just fine again.

Yes, Rice and others eg the Silica gel you sometimes get in packages, will draw out the moisture and you may be able to save an electronic device from being damaged.

But depends on the device to duration it stayed submerged and other, but its always worth trying.

I dont do the rice thingy, i just lay the phone in the sun for a day. Literally direct sunlight

It can help. Battery must be removed. Most phones does not allow to remove battery any more. Rice sucks the moisture out. You should give it a try. Take a container full of rice and bury phone into it. For 3 4 5 days.

I don't think rice works against "water". It only works against" humidity", not " wetness".

I never understood this. Flour would be better since it’s fine and can absorb moisture much better

It'll also get into the phone, while rice is too big to get into the nooks and crannies of the phone.

True. But you could blow it out with slightly pressurized air once it’s finished

Perhaps. I'm not sure its quite that simple. Like I could see it maybe hardening and sticking to whatever surface it's on. And some phones aren't designed to be opened, so depending on which nooks and crannies it gets into, you may not have convenient access to it.

Yes, it worked for me once. But my phone was only in the water for a few seconds.
