Is it true that I shouldn't wash our rice cooker pot with soap cuz the rice will spoil when we cook on it?

I don't see how dish detergent can cause rice or anything else to spoil. On the other hand, if plain water gets it clean, it's not really necessary to use detergent. Just make sure it really is clean.

If anything, the detergent will prevent spoilage, not cause it. Bacteria and fungus are the main causes of spoilage, and detergent should help reduce both of those.

I used to work at a high end Japanese restaurant. I don't specifically remember how the rice cooker was cleaned, but we used detergent to clean all kinds of things that came into contact with rice during preparation. That detergent is way stronger than anything you have at home.

Doesn't make sense. To make rice taste good for long is to squeeze half a lime before you cook it with the rice cooker. And no, the rice won't taste sour. Try it sometime.
