As a guy, I don't know the other names, I know Scarlett. I also looked at the people you thought were beautiful. Guys look for "hotter" women. For example, look at scarlett, more curvy, fuller lips. Etc. But beauty would only really last for hookups. You'd need to look decent, but personality matters too.

Ah! I missed this! For me, I feel insecure because of comparison. Boys at school have compared me to famous people, saying I don't look as good as Jenna Ortega and what not. That's made me insecure about my looks. Other reasons for that are the things I see everyday - people complaining about the shape of their nose or eyes, people saying things like how they have been dieting to get rid of thigh fat or talking about buccal fat removal. Or people doing things like saying they don't want smile lines at whatnot. Those are just a few examples of how we sometimes get these little insecurities sprouted in our head. Insecurities regarding personality stems a lot from not wanting to be a "basic white girl" but also not wanting to be a "pick me". There are just a lot of expectations, whether it's coming from men or other women, so sometimes girls (and guys, too) are just insecure because it comes with living in this day and age.

Yes! Definitely yes. I'm a bit of a romanticist, and I find myself having to do a reality check quite often, because I watch too much kdrama. I know it's targeted for girls in their teens and twenties. There's always a girl who ends up with a perfect, beautiful guy with zero flaws who does everything for his girl. If you've ever met a girl who loves boy bands, anime, or east Asian media, you'll know. On that side of the internet, the standard is just as tough for guys as it is for girls. That type of media is made to make everyone look like perfection, so yes, after being fed that perfect idealised fantasy, I definitely think the gender roles can be reversed in this situation.
