Can I fix this mess?

I'm in my last year of HS and have been participating in an Hispanic heritage program being offered at my school. I'm not hispanic but do speak advanced Spanish by now. I've been viewed as the one that stands up to them, that's all against bad treatment, etc.

However, two classmates somehow recorded me saying that I'm just in for the trips, prizes and about the time I admitted to doing nothing (I didn't join nor laughed, I just stood there and walked away, doing nothing; didn't care too much) when someone called one a wetback. If that videos gets to them, I'm going likely to be kicked out of the program and lose their friendship too.

have to get that video and delete it. I didn't realize it before but I actually do like them by now. Can this get fixed? I

Plus my reputation is going to be down too if it gets to them. It was originally just for incentives and the trips but I actually did came to liking them.

I'm trying to negotiate with them, trying to see if I can do something to silence them.

You can't undo the past. Don't try to get the video, you will fail.

Best thing to do is to let everyone know how you feel now, admit you may have said and done some things in the past that you now regret. And then show everyone, by your actions and words, how much you enjoy the group.

Then, if they do release the video, it will lose its effect.

Is just be honest and tell the Hispanic group about your mistake before your friends do.
