lol, no. Traditionally there's more manufacturing in the north, and agriculture in the south. However, new economies of technolgy-based companies are dispersed everywhere. The South having the advantage of cheaper COL and better weather.

Not everywhere in north is actually cold. Newyork is not cold at all in winter. If it is too windy, it may make one feel cold. I dont know how windy it is but based on temperatures, Newyork City does not have a cold winter.

There is a city called Muş in Turkey which has smilar amount of precipitation with colder temperature in winter than Bufallo... And it does not get 6 feet of snow in winter.
