my studio has been COLD. So cold my clothes in my closet are all DAMP. It caused my fabric bins to all get mold, my shoes covered in mold, a furntire with mold. I threw all that in the trash. But putting the heater doesn’t do anything. I can’t afford buy dehumidifier, but I have a split system ac & heater. I set it on dry as I read online doing that acts as a dehumidifier. I used a mold spray with bleach, so I have removed MOST of the mold in the house. My house now is SUPER CLEAN. But so cold it smells wet & walls & wood floor are like ice. I have no windows, just a big window sliding door with curtains & one celing fan in the living room. The bathroom is missing caulking in the shower & toilet. & the closet is DAMP. Even One part of the wall is soft & wet like wanting to rip. How many hours and how many days do I need have the dehumidifier on? Will it be a high bill as the owner pays the electricity bill? Also I will be at work next wk 5pm to 2-3am. So I cud only use it during the morning afternoon.
If its moldy its too humid, and cold walls also add to that as the water in the air will form droplets of water here.
You need to reduce humidity asap.
And maybe every walls needs a redo, as the mold grows deep into them.
Its a sever health risk.
You need a dehumidifier (or any kind) depending on you location it may the owners responsibility to install it.

it wouldn't hurt, however they are not very effective when it is cold in the area.
You will have to look and see what the minimum temp they will work is.
turn it on and leave it on, and maybe use a regular fan to help circulate the air.
open your closet door to help the air circulate.
Get one, turn it on and leave it on until the humidity is about 40%, or all of the mold disappears.

The dehumidifier is a good idea. If it is not equipped with a drain remember to empty the water collection pan. buy some litter boxes and fill them with dolomite based litter. Remember to rake it daily to expose fresh litter.
You Tube is your friend. Go search there for your apartment woes. Trust me.
Yeah but it uses a lot of energy like an air conditioner and dumping the water tray , ridex bags work too but you’ll go through them, maybe an exhaust system to vent out the humidity would be cheaper
Yes it will stop mold
you're better off moving
