I struggle to accept that. Or, for those for whom it's true, that's disappointing. Relationships are hard, I get that, but why make it harder by saying "I love you if..." or "I love you when..." or "I love you, but..."

You can not like someone, you can hate something they're doing, you can abhor behavior, decisions, preferences, opinions but I think that to tie anything to love defeats the purpose.

I should have added a last sentence: obviously I'm only speaking for me. I just think that people, couples, would be a lot happier if they chose unconditional love. It's easier when you delink love and all the other stuff that makes up a relationship.
