shit... I don't mean to laugh at anyone's situation... I really don't. (and usually I actually don't). I'm not gonna lie though... this... made me laugh. HARD.

I can also appreciate how it might be genuinely stressful for you... so I'm sorry for laughing (sorta).

There is nothing you can possibly do aside from just "come-clean". Seriously, what other possible option is there (aside from continuing to pretend... which you definitely shouldn't do... as... I hope and assume you've already 'learned' from this experience)

To tell you the truth, it's not going to be as bad as you think. If I were the other girl... I would find it hilarious that you had been pretending. She'll be able to see that it was just... you being too embarrassed or whatever to admit you didn't remember her at first... and then it snowballed. There's nothing malicious here. So she's not going to actually be mad. (at least she shouldn't be)

Plus... I'm sure you've ACTUALLY become friends... while you've been pretending... for the last 5 years. So how mad can she really be that her friend of 5 years fibbed about remembering her way-back-wheneverthefuck. You've now become friends. That's going to outweigh all else.

But... if you ever find yourself in a similar situation with anyone ever again... you're an idiot.

Just come-clean all-at-once. Rip it off like a band-aid. (and I would LOVE an update after you do) 🙂
