When was the last time something scared you?

To be frankly honest, overhearing a conversation from my nephew and my sister.

He’s at the age, where he’s going to have some conscientious pains and things he will see, as worth crying about, and his elusiveness/ oblivion to the world is fading.

I will try to give him options as usual, and be someone he can talk with, but the thought alone, for me, is unsettling and was briefly ‘scary.’

It’s a struggle because I know that the closeness he has with his mom also means she will be one to hurt him most-

confusion/ let downs/ misunderstandings.

I can’t change that for him, and can’t always be the one to fix it- he’ll want that from her, but I can offer some aid and alleviation, ofc.

I think getting him active and in hobbies and adventures will alleviate any pains he may come to face. The mental override will be useful as well-

so that he’s not LITERALLY running from his fears.

One of the children I work with was not in balance - couldn't handle the requirements I gave him, some idiot forgot scissors in his bathroom, he got a hold on it and threaten to stab me and actually tried too.

I was disconnecting from a trailer about a month ago, and when I went to remove the parking brake air line, there must've been a fair amount of pressure left in it because as soon as I twisted it halfway off, the line popped.

It sounded like a grenade went off in my hand and I would've sworn it broke the skin, but I was unscathed. I'm also grateful that there wasn't a soul within a half mile because I screamed like a woman and jumped so hard I got whiplash on my moobs. I may have even peed a little. 0/10, Would Not Recommend.

Before that, it was around Christmas when the big storm hit and I started to lose control of the semi going down a hill in Tennessee after catching a frozen bridge. I recovered it with no issue but I was also puckering and making promises to any God that would listen.

Like actual fear? Doesn't really happen anymore. But I think the time my best friend who I almost dated was driving to work and was hit by a drunk driver. The accident totalled her car, hurt her head, nearly killed her, and nearly cut both her legs off at the knees. All because of some dumbass alcoholic who wasn't even legal to drive. Even though other events made it impossible for us to ever date or anything, hearing about it made my heart stop, drop, and roll. She's one of like 3 non-family members I've actually loved. I'd only been that scared maybe 5 times in my life. Maybe it was worse because I was notified of what happened to her in the same way that I was told about 3 other friends dying due to suicide and other terroble things.

Maybe 20 minutes ago. Earlier today, there was a spider in the bathroom, a black one with I think black and maybe yellow or white markings. I forgot about it until I took a shower. When I got out, the son of a beach returned to fight me. It was a truly an experience of a time. I hit it with a broom but am still unsure if my attack was effective, because when I did hit them, they vanished.
