What's your phobia?

Phobia meant as an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something.

My own phobia is automatonophobia which, is a fear of human-like figures, such as mannequins, wax figures, statues, dummies, animatronics, or robots.

In my case it's primarily mannequins - I can stand them as long as there are other people around and we are during the day (such as clothing shops) but I absolutely dread being alone with one. My aunt used to own an old, wooden creepy one that gave me nightmares for years, and it did not help that my mother once pranked me with it and said it would eat me if I was bad.

Talking about it right now because I just woke up from such a nightmare lol. Curiosly enough, I don't feel that way about dolls or the likes, maybe because they are smaller.

My fears are rational, and they have truly logical/rational ways to solve them and avoid them, but I miss the best ways to do them, and some that I know of, I IRRATIONALLY fear to apply them lol

So I wouldn't know the fear of that?

I've anxiety - mostly related to disasters. I'll be walking down the street and all of a sudden get this irrational fear of some disaster happening - if it be natural or man made.

Porcelain dolls - grew up surrounded by them, they've always creeped me the fuck out.

Being alone with a unknown man - without others near, induces me with fear too, but that is mostly due to previous experiences that still sit within me and probably always will.

As much as I appreciate people's sentiments, like you and others that state I have plenty of time, it feels rather empty. I'm a half to a third in the grave. Everything around me is either still in a loving relationship or having been in several previously, while I couldn't even start. It's rather bothersome being told that I have plenty of time or that I'm not horrible when everything points to the contrary. If I weren't I'd have someone by now.

My friend, I've gotten to the point that I don't see any reason to approach anyone. I hate people saying that it's numbers game. It's insanity. There's an experiment which highlights my views on this. An animal is hooked up to a machine that you press a button, you either get an electric shock, or a tree nut. At some point, the tree nut stops coming and all you get is electric shock. No matter what I tried, every method failed. I came to the conclusion that I'm Frankenstein's monster. Unless someone approaches me, I'm not going to be in a relationship. It's a self fulfilling prophecy, but I don't see any other possibilities. I could keep trying but it's pointless. I'm going to work on not allowing it to be a goal any longer so it doesn't bother me so much. Thankfully, I've only been thinking about it late at night.

I'm going to make sure I keep things to myself for now on. Rather than understand my position, everyone tries to guilt trip me into trying on something I know isn't going to happen. I could talk to thousands of women over the rest of my life and still be rejected every time. I don't see the point if the entire gender isn't interested.

If they don't want me now, they're not going to want me later. No amount of working out, counting calories, buying expensive clothes, etc is going to make a difference. I feel that it's counter productive to go out and talk to random women just to be a little more social when I have no desire for more friends, considering that my friends I already have, don't have time for me at all. I could go and try all the unsolicited advice others have given me and still have no success in what I really want. I dress as decently as I can afford. If you understood what I was saying you wouldn't argue with me about the futility of it all.

No, they wouldn't. I know plenty of gymbros that were rejected even though they had the physique. Like I said, they don't want me now, they won't later. I tried the gym route for a while, didn't interest me but I kept going because of wanting women interested in me. Still weren't. Every single method folks mentioned, I've already done. At the age of twenty eight, after some introspection, came to the conclusion that no one is ever going to be interested in me. Everyone is always like, "Do this, do that, don't give up, they'll be interested, just be patient". I've been patient. Fifteen years trying to get a relationship. No one really understands. They always encourage me to do more. I've done more. I'm not good enough for anyone. If I were, I'd have a partner by now.
