Axolotl owners help?

I am wanting to buy an axolotl and I'm trying to figure out if my 5 gallon tank is good enough! One website says one thing and another say another. Please help.

A 10-gallon tank could work fine for an adult axolotl, but they do produce a significant amount of waste, so you may want to go with a 20-gallon tank that will stay cleaner for a longer time. It depends on how often you are able to clean the tank

You’re very welcome.. Axolotls require brackish water — a mix between fresh and salt water. This is one of the main reasons that Axolotls are not recommended for first-time aquatic pet owners.

I have had multiple aquatic animals lol. I just didn't know with the tank and stuff.

Bigger is always better. 5 gallons seems rather small to me

I know a poor family with an axolotl so I'm assuming they use minimum or standard sized tanks. I also know you can ask other professionals on sites like reddit if your curious.
