Do you find it surprising if a black person has either blue or green eyes?

When I was a kid there was a black female classmate in my school. All her features were dark except her eyes. Her eyes were deep blue like the ocean. They weren't contact lenses. It was her natural color. Both parents (blacks) picked her up early one day and the father had blue eyes too. The mother didn't but she must've been a blue eye carrier.

Certain black people do have naturally blue or green eyes. Do you find this surprising?

No. As eye color has little to do with skin tone. No direct genetic relation. Pseudo science, what was & is a supporting factor of racism, says skin & eye color is related.

But if that was the case every Caucasian would have blue / grey or green eyes & hazel, brown, etc. would not exist within Caucasian populations. Pale skin = pale eyes, right?

Reality is brown & hazel makes up anywhere from 60 to 75% of Caucasian eye color.

Questioning a "black person's" eye color is sort of like saying they shouldn't have it.

It would be the same as questioning a "black person's" natural blonde hair.

Or saying blacks or aboriginals or Asians shouldn't have anything but dark features = unfortunately for racists groups like Melanesians, Ainu, Berber, Kyrgyz & Uyghurs and many others exist that have "Caucasian" eye and hair colors.

Back when I worked in IT for a large bank/credit card company, we had a black guy in our building with blue eyes. The women practically fainted every time he walked by, and I assure you that he was getting a LOT of tail. At least a couple of times, I saw girls talk to him and then excuse themselves to visit the restroom, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't to pee...

Yeah, I would. I don't think I've ever seen that in person, but I've seen plenty of pictures. Some have Waardenburg syndrome, too.

That can be one of the reasons but seems unlikely in her case. She was well with no hearing loss nor anything except just her different eye colors. Possible white ancestry I guess.

Oh, sure, it's USUALLY just a mutation or some outside genetic influence, but my point was that there are other causes. I'm told that Brazilians are particularly proud of the crazy interethnic mixes they get down there. Good for them, I say.

Yea it extremely unlikely, she have a white ancestor or it's because of some rare mutation.

No, I’m black with green eyes and my mom has hazel eyes and her mom had green eyes, they run in my family

Never seen that combination. Never seen a black woman with natural blonde hair either.
