I honestly get bored and come up with questions sometimes. Anyway this is my newest one and I'm quite curious

It would be terrible if my 13-year-old self knew what I became although he'd be shocked at how much I have learned and become so confident in my thinking and mental discipline. But, he'd definitely be depressed knowing all his fears not only came true but were worse than predicted. That would be the kind of depression that is arresting and completely demotivating - like finding out you are just a pig in line at the slaughterhouse to be killed and eaten by others.

Well, he'd be impressed by my beard. That I can say definitively.

+1 yProbably not, I wanted to be a fireman when I was 10-13. However, if you said 17, then yes I would have been proud to see where I've gotten in life.
It has been good overall and I hope to enjoy it for a little while longer. See my daughter grow into a young women and maybe play with some grandchildren.

@abc3643 I'll not argue against that. However, as defined by Webster, there is pride (self respect) and their is pride (conceit). Webster's definitions a and b appears to be good:
a: reasonable self-esteem : confidence and satisfaction in oneself : SELF-RESPECT

b: pleasure that comes from some relationship, association, achievement, or possession that is seen as a source of honor, respect, etc.

Webster's definition c is not good and appears to be as defined in Proverbs 16:17-19:
c: exaggerated self-esteem : CONCEIT

—John Anderson

—David Grann
