I try to respect every form of life, as small as it may be.

If I step on crawlers, then it is because I did not see them or because I failed to look where I put my feet. I would never step on a living creature with the intention to harm it.

When I see spiders in my place, I take a plastic cup and catch it with the cup and release it outside. I don't have fear of bugs and I can touch them if I know they will not harm me.

However, I cannot remember as a toddler if I did step on a bug on purpose or not and I may have done it a few times.

However, In my adult life, I did once step on a bee on purpose that stung me but it was not for spite but to prevent it from having to suffer because bees will die once their stinger has been torn off after a sting. Mea culpa :-(

I actually do not. I saw a video of monks who would sweep every step they took so they would not kill any precious life form. If our cat decides that she wants to bring us a mouse she has found in the house I always return it outside.
