i have a small pitbull puppy he was recently in my bed and was biting me so i said calmly 3 times to stop biting he continued so i held his mouth shut and said with a more louder and serious tone to stop and he did around a minute or two later he grabbed my finger and one of his teeth hooked under my nail and in the pain i gave him a light shove that rolled him but he got back up and came back and licked me but then i felt bad for it would you classify this as abuse or disciple cause i have a brother who beats his dog and i don’t wanna be like that like i spank my older dog he is 6 months but i don’t do it hard enough to leave marks or make him yelp he will run off and lay in his bed then look sad but after about a minute he is fine again i have only had to do it once or twice though mostly i will always use a calm stop or bad and it fixes it what do y’all think

As long as your dog doesn't get injured and you are nice then its fine I think

they never get injured and i cuddle and feed them the best food that is available and i play with them and rig up toys for them to mess with and they never run from me other than the big dog mainly cause he doesn’t listen but once i get his attention he returns but once i raise my voice at him or he does something wrong and he k owns it he will lay on the ground cause he knows he did wrong most of the time all i do is pick him up and take him back to where we need to go but like the time he ran toward the road after weeks of training him not too i spanked him and he never repeated the puppy is much more of a listener and potty trained much faster and doesn’t run from me like the other dog i don’t spank or yell at them when it isn’t necessary i use a calm tone and if they don’t listen i use a deeper and slightly louder tone and that usually fixes it and if it persists then i will either give a light tap on the butt or pat them on the back and try to calm them so they listen they always love to cuddle and love spending time with me and if i raise my hand they don’t flinch so they definitely don’t fear me maybe the big dog a little bit only when he knows he did wrong cause he will become submissive what u think

If it happens again, just start saying no in a stern voice, and consider taking your dog to obedience training.

I dont think its abuse but he’d go to the pound if he didn't get better training
