Do you think driving is scary at all?

My only worry is the other people on the road. I mean who doesn’t know a person that’s been killed in a car accident? Meanwhile, people are more worried about planes. You probably don’t know if somebody killed in a plane crash.. And unlike a video game If you make a mistake, there are actual serious repercussions. And driving at night is the scariest.

I never saw that as a problem, including driving at vmax on the Autobahn. Then again, our driving schools are harder and longer than in the United States and our drivers more disciplined (20-25% of accidents/injured people per driven km). I always drive anticipating problems ahead.

I don't know anyone who's been killed in a car accident, but it's still scary.

What if someone doesn't respect right of way and plows into me?

What if that semi truck doesn't see me?

What if there's a drunk driver? A texting driver? A sleeping driver?

What if I don't notice a motorcycle or civilian and I hit them?

Far too many things to go wrong.

Sometimes. There are stupid people on the road that make stupid decisions that others pay the price for. I’m a little more afraid of poor driving conditions though. For example where I am we’ve got wildfires and the rains have finally come but the rains come so hard visibility is minimal, the roads are slick and flooded

It definitely can be at times, but I am never scared while driving. The thing is, you can be scared/anxious while driving and that's completely fine. We all have our ticks and for driving it's understandable. It's only a problem when it gets in the way of you doing something.

I'm not afraid to drive but I don't drive - I think I might be at high risk of a crash because I'm clumsy in the kitchen. Now if I have no choice but to drive cause I live on a farm or in some place far from people - then yeah - I would risk myself in a car.

Driving is one of the most dangerous things most people do - especially if you include injuries, not just deaths. There is good reason to be alert and careful when you are driving.

In the US, there’s an almost one percent chance that’s how you will die. That’s not a very comforting number.

it can be due to other drivers. i almost got killed a few months ago im still recovering, im driving but have times where i get a bit worried and pull over

Lately, it’s been more scary because I’ve been seeing more accidents on the road but usually I’m in a tractor trailer so I am safe but still don’t want to get into any situation

not really. I drive a big SUV or a pickup truck. the other drivers need to be afraid of me.

That’s what I meant. It’s not the actual act of driving. It’s a fact that I’m not on the road alone. If it was nobody but me it would be fine.
