I wouldn’t think anything. Just maybe they went through a lot previously. Hopefully their learning to find new outlets to support them in a positive way.

I don't take it in unless it's very obvious or large. I've seen self harm scars on those that appear to be very happy and popular and successful, so I don't always view it as a sign of distress. Also if somebody is 40 or 60, the harm scars could be something they did to themselves at age 8 or 9, and does not mean they are currently depressed. I had deep depressive episodes as a child, and now I don't even remember what depression feels like. it's like it happened to somebody else and not even me.
My roommate actually used to self harm, for them it was a way to feel. But if I ever see others with those scars I just hope they’ve found peace within themselves and the strength to not continue the cycle of self harm
would hope that my assumptions about it are true...
if they have them visible and not hiding them anymore... could be a sign that things have gotten better...
I have those on my penis. I would feel for them positively. Life can be hard
