Can people with kids tell me, what is the draw of the suburbs?

It seems that once people have children they want to move far from the excitement of the city to a place without restaurants, movie theaters, skyscrappers or really anything except houses, churches, and schools the boring stuff.

Number one: schools!

Aside from that, it's quieter, there's room to play outside and ride a bike, where I live - crime is usually down compared to the city, cleaner, nice parks, more kid friendly activities, somehow more wholesome in general.

The suburbs have theaters, too and where I live, there is no shortage of restaurants or shopping. The city is very close to me, so if there's an outing to the city it's just a short ride by car or train. 🙂

There is less bullying at school in the suburbs, less drug addictions and crime, less kidnapping and rape, less likelihood of cars running over people or pets, and cleaner grocery stores and streets. I’m lucky the high school I went to was in a rural area and the smart and law abiding kids were the popular ones and not the druggies so nobody ever got beat up for being a nerd.
