The Russians have lost a lot according to real estimates , but Ukraine publishes absurd figures which would put almost the entire Russian military either killed or wounded. I support them, but I mean these numbers are not reality obviously
The numbers I've seen from the most reliable source I can get access to shows roughly 17 Russians killed for every 11 Ukrainians, but this does not isolate the numbers for foreign fighters, which both sides have been using as cannon fodder and may be skewing the numbers. The same can be said for non-military militia. You also have to keep in mind that "casualties" is the combined number of WIA, KIA, MIA, and captured, not strictly the KIA. Of the total casualties, roughly 50% are KIA on both sides.
17:11 is a very believable number for an aggressor against a defender in a near-peer conflict. In world war 2, the allies determined that they needed to outnumber and outgun the Germans by no less than double in order to successfully carry out an offensive, and the modern doctrinal standard of outnumbering the enemy 3:1 is derived directly from that.
Personally, I would take any given report you hear from this conflict with a massive bag of salt. When I was in Syria, CNN, the BBC, France 24, al-Jazeera, and the Russian news channel continuously lied about what was actually happening on the ground, and none of them or any other outlet had reporters anywhere near us to even bother making an attempt at accuracy. Information warfare is in full swing, and furthermore, Russia and Ukraine both have extensive histories of over the top propaganda efforts that don't hold up to even modest scrutiny. The most common giveaway you'll see in western media is that they will completely omit any and all pushes Russia makes while celebrating Ukraine retaking X location. If you're paying attention however, you'll eventually notice that Ukraine is "retaking" the same locations every few weeks or months. This means they're locked in a back and forth stalemate, likely with both sides unable to adequately reinforce their gains or coordinate multiple operations at once. When you look at the idiotic spending plans that the US is supporting for Ukraine, it's also obvious that our government is intentionally dragging this out as long as possible without any regard for how politically stupid it is, or how badly it's damaging both our own economy and military, but will attack anyone who doesn't agree with it as "unpatriotic" or "a Russian asset."

Who and what do we believe, then?
The average person has no way to know the truth!
Propaganda is why. Same reason Russia is playing down their failure in Ukraine.
An interesting point is that Russia since the start of the war has given Ukraine more tanks than nato has.
Do you have the figures so we can check to see for ourselves if what you're claiming here is actually true?

Russia has killed many more Ukrainians and the scariest thing is they even kill their own soldiers. I saw a video of a Russian soldier surrendering to Ukraine and Ukraine was instructing him with a drone and the Russian army was so disgusting and terrible that they dropped bomb on his own soldier just because he was surrendering and you are still supporters of that cruel country? 😹😹😹 My god how can you be so stupid?
I was supporting the Ukrainian from the very beginning... but they are making so much fake news that I no longer support either of them.. all I want is for the war to end
The more you believe russia over ukraine, the more you sound pro russian, which means you're pro dictator
Because they are covering up genocidal actions as the left wing paymasters have dictated to them
Russia makes up tons of stuff too.
