How often do you walk your dog?

Before my little Yorkie was stolen by my narcissistic aunt, I used to walk him twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. That dog loved walks. He would sniff at everything and loved marking his territory on the one yellow fire hydrant at the next block up, the one yield sign where the two streets connect, and a lot of the bushes.

I used to keep a bottle of water and a little cup in one pocket for him, and his sausage treats in the other. That dog would have walked all day if you let him, lol. I would usually do 6 to 8 blocks each walk.

When I would be in the bedroom and he wanted to walk, he could grab his leash off of the table in the kitchen and bring it into my room and set it down in front of him, move it forward with his nose, and bark. And if I didn't pay attention right away, he would bark again, and then bark louder and louder the more I ignored him. Then I'd point to the leash and tell him to pick it up and bring it closer, and he'd pick it up and drop it in my hand.

Walks were his favorite, right up there with rides in the car and baths.

Couple times a week. Would love to take them more, but we get lazy after work and dinner at times. They get free roam in the house, and we spoil the shit out of them in other ways.

But still we should do it once a day at least. And I feel bad for not.

We never did cause we were afraid of logistical things, like he poops in a yard, becomes aggressive with other dogs or neighbours, and our dog would refuse to walk further when he was tired which is hard if you don’t want to carry him back home and I had a friend whose dog ran onto a road and got hit. We have a backyard so we just let it run in our yard for an hour a day. It lived around 1-2 years more than he was supposed to so I think he was happy. I think he died at 14-17. I remember it was around Valentine’s Day.

We don’t. She stays in the yard and runs like a crazy nut. She definitely gets plenty of exercise. She’s a boxer so she’s totally goofy. Lmfao. She was fighting with a pine cone this morning. Lol

The dogs and cat walk up and down my long driveway twice a day. The dogs heel on the left and the cat on the right.

I don't walk my dog at all because unfortunately I don't have a dog. If I did have a dog I would walk him at least once a day and maybe more depending on what he needed.
