When I had a dog, about 3 times a week.
If she needed to shit or pee and walk around, she'd go out back. And, because she was a VERY good dog, if she just wanted to mosey around in the front yard for a while, we'd just open the door and let her out front! She NEVER left the yard or crossed the street and if someone else went by, she'd either just lay where she was and not bother them at all or she might happily stroll over to them and say hello. I don't recall her growling, barking at or chasing other dogs as they went by. The only thing she'd chase is squirrels but NEVER across the street!!
If it was a nice night out or if I was gonna take a quick trip to the store just over a mile away and thought she'd like to walk with me, I'd say, "wanna gopher?", actually, "go fer" short for, go fer a walk, she'd get VERY excited and we'd USUALLY just go one block over 1.5 blocks up and another block back over to our street and back down to the house. She'd have a blast running a few houses ahead of me, sniffing around, running a few house behind me, going between the houses and sometimes I'd try to hide from her but, she nearly always found me!
Only one time did she ever get lost! She was sitting out front and decided to wander down the alley a ways and started investigating the open garage of a neighbor. While she was in there, he came home after a few hours at the bar, drove his car into the garage never seeing her in there, got out of his car, locked the garage doors with her in it!! She was stuck in there for a day or two. We roamed all over the area calling her name and we could just barely hear her barking but had no idea where she was!! Eventually, we narrowed it down to Jim's garage and let her out!
I don't have a dog and my cats have no interest in going for a walk since they usually spend the day watching films on TV.
I have a little terrier mix named Sam and I just let him out when he scratches on the door and he takes himself for a walk but he doesn't stay out there too long this time of year 'cuz he doesn't like winter any better than I do. 🤣
I've two dogs, a collie and a puggle, they've got free reign of the farm and get enough exercise naturally. But I like to give them extra stimulant by taking them on a woodland walk or let them have a run on the beach once a day.
Make crap pets because they're smarter than most people and they know it
🤣🤣🤣

They (2) can walk quite freely any time during the day. But as a 'social event' the Missus takes charge in the morning, and myself in the evening. Not regularly, but whenever it fits in.
at least one time... but she also has friends with the neighbors and she prefers those, to the walks... some playtime
I don't have a dog.
Once in a while, but I mostly left them out in the front yard. They are running around free wherever they wanna go when I had them they would run around, but they wouldn’t cross the street very much. They knew better
I haven't had a dog for years, but growing up the dog was out in the yard most of the time so kind of walked themselves. When they got older would let them just lay in the front yard untied and they wouldn't run off.
All our dogs are walk only in the mornings.

If we're all out camping, they're walked at least twice each day of our outings with them.
Once a day in the morning while looking for breakfast.
When I had a dog growing up, I took her for 2 walks a day when she was young and 1 a day when she got older.
I dont have a dog because I dont want the responsibility of owning one
