How to keep cool with no ac?

You'll probably laugh at us. We're not used to heat in the UK like this, our houses are built for keeping in heat.

It's currently 26 c or 78 f. As the summer rolls on, it will probably reach 40 c or 104 f. The temperatures will probably get higher.

We are a nation of rain. Not heatwaves. And for anyone laughing at this. Spend a summer in the UK with no ac, boiling hot air, etc. But how do you keep cool in this heat?

Dress in less, when I visited, (im from Kenya) it's hot here. Kept some pails of water around the house in the corners. It helped alittle

You can always put ice by an fan to blow cooler air however thinking about it reusable ice packs would work better & save water. In addition you can always put a fan in front of your freezer or refrigerator & open the door.

If I was experiencing 40C/104F, I'd install AC.

Barring that option, get yourself wet and stand or sit in front of a fan.

Ac is expensive in the UK. Plus we don't get this type of heat all year

Yep living in London set your fan up makesure u got a goof air flow with windows or doors open try to have cold showers or keep ya feet in cold buckets of water to cool off

One thing I learned in SCUBA class, is that water dissipates heat, 25 times faster than air. Put a wet towel around your neck and shoulders, and you will be shivering in minutes.

Open any windows currently. not being hit with direct sunlight, and put a fan infront to. blow fresh air in. Or get a window ac unit.

Fan and less clothes. Use the oven the least amount possible. Drink lots of water.

Usually with a big fan or what they call a swamp fan which uses water and a fan together but that’s about it if you have no air-conditioning and keep hydrated

Place a fan in front of Ice and that does help to keep the air cool.
