I don't remember much about it. It was before my time. However, what many don't seem to appreciate, is the fact that had it not been for the existence of the Russian principalities at the time, the Mongols would have swept into Europe and extinguished the nations of the West, including Poland, Hungary, and France, so everyone should be grateful to the people of Russia for stopping them!
Empires are generally a good thing, they open up the world to common people bringing in trade, technology and new ideas from it's different parts. All the mongols are remembered for is brutality and destruction.
They're the forgotten empire. Because they "conquered" land nobody really wanted.😆

Mongolian Empire took majoriy of Turkey lands, which Roman Empire had before.
And from the north, they took lands of Eastern Europe.
