Yes, a lot! One time, we were just coming home from a gig in Erie and this car pulls up right next to us and at least one of the 4 people in the car smiled and waved at me! The black guy looked just like my friend, Tony, the drummer for Joydrop (from Toronto). The other three people looked just like the rest of the band! They took one exit, we took the other exit and never saw each other again. A few months later, I got hold of Tony and asked him if that was him and he said he was nowhere near here since that last time they played here a few years before and we hung out with each other after the show.
Most often, I'm the one people take for someone else. One guy asked if I was Bill Walton. I had no idea who that was but, apparently, he was a basketball star.
Another guy I saw on the bus all the time thought I was some friend of his named, Kevin.
Twice, the police picked me up for crimes I never did because I looked like the guys they were looking for.
And, one time, I was at a Cheap Trick concert near the backstage area and I'm looking for the band because I was friends with Rick and Bun and, along comes the other band that played that night, Kansas! Robbie walks right up to me and shakes my hand like I was an old buddy of his!
And, Todd Rundgren seems to have a bug up his ass about me, for some reason, like I'm some he hates or is very scared of. I never even met the guy other than to get his autograph a time or two but, every time I see him and he spots me in the audience, I'll catch him staring at me until I look at him and then he quickly turns away like he's afraid I'll catch him looking at me! At one pair of his gigs, I ended up being one of his stage hands and, he sat right beside me off stage before the show for about 10:00 and never said a word to me!

Yep a few times and did something more embarrassing the other day I was in my jobs bathroom stall 10 minutes before we open and I saw a guy with white hair walk in, thinking is was my friend Ricky I said welcome to your final destination in the scary movie voice, it wasn't my friend Ricky it was just some random guy he didn't say a word and left the restaurant

I often have people think I'm someone they know and sometimes it's to the point of them insisting I must be the person they think I am.

I wave back whether or not I know the person waving to me or not, however I have waved at the wrong person before and what made it awkward was that he just stared at me instead of waving back.

I have done that and it led to a new friendship. But things did not continue cause he wanted to date me.

OMG this was so embarrassing, but when my sister, and I were little we saw this woman and went up running to her, screaming Grandma and when we got close up to her here it was not her. Lol
