Why do I get easily fooled by people?

Question

I don't understand when people lie to me and I think everything they said with a smile is a good thing just because they smiled. PLUS it's rare when I realize they lied to me and when that person says  “oh you misunderstood me”  I think  “perhabs I guess I really misunderstood”  and again believe them so just because I've never lying do I think everyone is like me or am I stupid I can't even understand this

Because you are honest and they are liars , Most people have a hard time being honest within themselves , so to give honesty to someone else is even harder for them to do , Most people in general don’t really know what they want out of life , they just think they know what they want , basically whatever is best for them , at that given time. People that have a tendency of lying , feel that’s the only way they will be accepted by other’s , by making themselves stand out , so they can feel better about themselves. Not realizing their lying is making them look even worse than what they actually are , people that have a tendency of lying our usually people that aren’t satisfied within their own lives , they constantly compare their lives to other’s and they are usually jealous and insecure people , because they don’t feel accepted, I had a best friend that sadly was a compulsive liar , he lied so much thinking that’s the only way he will be accepted to the point people just accepted the way he was , because other than his lying , he did have a big heart , but for whatever reason , he constantly lied to make himself feel better about himself , He lied so much to the point he started to believe his own lies. Eventually his lies backfired on him and he could no longer make an excuse for his actions so he ended up taking his own life. To find someone that is honest these days, is sadly very hard to come by , I blame social media for a lot of it, To me honesty is a huge attraction to me , because sadly most people have a hard time being honest. Why I no longer jump into a relationship with a girl , cuz most girl’s I have given my heart to were selfish liars that only really cared about themselves , telling me everything I wanted to hear to get me to fall for them , things would be great in the beginning but eventually it would turn to shit once her true colors shined through , Most people jump into relationships without looking at the big picture , they are just infatuated by someone in the beginning, but once that infatuation runs dry you are no longer a priority to their life. So again I no longer give my heart 100 percent when it comes to meeting a new girl. I will treat her the way I want to be treated and be honest with her , but if she can’t be honest with me , then I will lose interest on her fast. But if she is honest with me I will do my best to keep her by my side

There could be a lot of reasons one could be autism like I have but there could probably be other explanations too. Anyway I hope you can learn to be more careful of people. The first lie isn't always that bad but if you believe them that it's your fault that you understood it wrong that is a problem because then people can really mess with you and abuse you basically. So try and analyze people and keep track of how people treat you and others what their priorities are and what they're willing to do to get what they want etc. So you can protect yourself from bad people.

you have a good heart and wanna believe everyone has good intentions or not lying because you dont, unfort a lot of people can be incredibly shitty. dont beat yourself up, really- you will learn over time, we have all been there, even later in life there will always be a few who will fool you

Always assume everyone is lying to you and work backwards from that.

we tend to expect people to behave the way we behave ourselves, so if we are honest we think all the people are honest, if we lie we think all the people are liars, I think it's as simple that, don't believe this "you need mental assessment or professional advice", it's common and only people who have trust issues don't act this way, people with good hearts tend to trust fast and think all people are good.

Might be partly that you're a trustworthy person (which is a good thing not a bad thing) and the life experience you're still gaining. After another 10 years of the same crap you'll spot it easier.
