I love em. Great view of the waterfall from the den downstairs and the lightning lights up the forest well. Plus before it gets right on top of us, the glass roof in the conservatory is a great place to lie down with a rescue kitten and read a book or something as the storm rolls in.
For a young woman who is surreptitiously getting fucked by her boyfriend and is hoping to avoid getting caught, a timely thunderstorm can be a welcome event. They do occasionally cause some damage to the surrounding area, however.
I like when they come with rain. We had a severe one where last night, and some people here lost power. But I do like them and the sound of the thunder. There's something about feeling cozy inside the house when there's a storm outside. Sounds corny, but true.
I think in a weird way if this makes sense but thunderstorms sometimes make me feel safe because as they are happening and I'm comfy inside my apartment I can think to myself, I'm grateful I'm in here and not out there and I feel safe and cozy.
It's ok to feel safe inside but also be aware of where the strikes hit. If you want to figure out how far away the strikes are, when you see the flash count one thousand one, one thousand two and keep going until you here the thunder. Each one thousand is a mile
Interesting. I'll have to try that next time.
I forgot where I learned this from but I've found that it's pretty accurate.
It's pretty neat.

They are awesome. I wiah i had these high tech cameras to tape it all , in 4K and slow motion, oh baby.
I can take Thunderstorms as long they don't do damage or throw my garbage cans over the hillside. Also, the power going out is another issue too.
Oh yes, I like them. The area where I live does not get a lot of them. I always like it when we do get thunderstorms.
I like them, but I don’t want them, knocking my central air conditioning out damaging it because that can happen. Last Friday it hit close to my house I heard knocking the power out for eight hours to several homes. Luckily, I wasn’t home.
I love them till the power goes out.
You need a backup generator for those situations
I love them! We just had one here last night.
I absolutely love them, sadly though they are very few and far between here in the UK.
We just sustained hail damage for unknown amount. Wxpensive frozen ice! No
Really fun - if I'm not somewhere exposed, like high in the mountains or in a small aircraft
I like to watch them in the distance. I don't like when they are close to me. I definitely cringe when it's close to my house. I know what lightning can do. I've seen it many times, it's scary
they can be
@exitseven I've seen what it can do to houses. It doesn't even have to be a direct hit. It can cause damage inside the house.
@sparkie460. I had a 3 building campus and I installed a phone system in all 3 buildings. I bought one big switch and had conduits installed between the 3 buildings. Every time we would get a thunderstorm the board that controlled the phones in a different building would be blown. There did not even have to be a lightning strike, there just had to be a big difference in potential between buildings that it would fry the board. Finally I had to buy a separate switch.
I've seen lightning strike a clothes line, run under ground sending grass clumps in the air, follow the cable line into the home, blow up the TV then follow the power cord into the electric system. It ended up costing the homeowner 35 thousand dollars to replace everything that burned
i lost a TV set due to thunderstorm
They can do a lot more damage than take out 1 TV. You got lucky that's all you had to replace
another time a phone system and another time a computer... i used to live in FL... but never multiple things at once thank god.
You should have a good surge strip on all your electronics. The good ones start at like $75 each. If you own the house have a surge suppressor put on your electric panel to protect your whole house
that's a great idea sparkie
They make me a little nervous but we need them
Great
I love them especially with heavy rain. Heaven!
I like them as long as two things don’t happen
1 - it doesn’t create a tornado
2 - we don’t lose power
I like Thunderstorms they are natures fireworks displays, I can sit and watch them for hours with a couple of beers
To be honest i can handle it anywhere in the world but in the US. They have the worst thunderstorms there. I was thinking at Some point that my houses roof will fly off. I couldnt sleep the whole night it was really scary
I dont know how native americans or early settlers dealt with such storms with only tents and flimsy houses
I LOVE thunderstorms. The ones we get where I live can be gnarly which I love.
Love them as long as there isn't any damage done by them.
I like thunderstorms. It is natures way to flush the toilet.
Hey love the facts that could see the all might Thor 😊
I love the look of lightening and the sound of thunder, but they can be pretty dangerous.
Great background music for intimate time with my fiancée.
i like them but i also live in the forest so unless they’re accompanied by a lot of rain they worry me. they start forest fires pretty quickly.
I enjoy watching them over the sea.
If they're far enough away... One of the most powerful and frightening things I've ever witnessed was a bolt of lightning strike the ocean. That's when you realize Mother Nature is a raw, unbridled beast and it's a really odd thing that humans are even here.
I've been only a few metres away from a lamp post being struck. I ran to the car pretty quick after that
Kind of bad, although they are very picturesque and romantic.
i love a good thunderstorm so long as i don't have to be out driving in them
They are part of the necessary weather cycle of our planet and they aren't leaving any time soon.
Plan accordingly. :- )
I enjoy them. A good, severe thunder boomer comes along, we're in the garage on lawn chair having a cocktail while watching Nature's fireworks.
Yep.. if they don't land on me
Bad. They keep causing us to lose power.
They are super fun to watch
G0d's live entertainment.
only good thing about them is that theyre pretty
I love them when I'm at home
I like them… Sometimes
Good, very good. I never get enough.
They are fascinating.
Good! This year's been lacking by the way
Awesome! Love them.
I like them.
Indifferent.
I love them
I live in Oklahoma 🤣🤣
Around here they come with hail... so bad.
