How did you celebrate your 22nd birthday?

Question

My 22nd is on Friday and so far I’m spending it with family and my partner, but I’ve been trying to think about whether I have a party or if I go out for it at night.

The day I turned 22, it was a Sunday. And since my birthday always occurs during winter break, I was likely home from college, but I am not sure that I was. So, I suspect that my parents took my sister and I out to dinner. HOWEVER, since I was a senior in college and had a nice new local girlfriend, I may actually have been in my apartment near my college. Indeed, I remember New Year's Eve, I was at my apartment with my cousin from California and we celebrated at my girlfriend's uncle's home. Of course, I had to take my cousin back home though so she could fly back to California. So, again, I suspect I was home for my birthday although, again, I might have gone back to school after going home to drop off my cousin. For some reason, I remember (perhaps falsely) that my girlfriend and her family made me a nice birthday cake.

My girlfriend took me to the zoo as a surprise (I have shockingly never been before) then had a dinner party with a few close friends.

I worked that day, my coworkers threw a surprise for me. I went to the office and everything was decorated into Autumn style and my desk was full with gifts and presents and then they opened the song and brought in the music.

My cousin took me home that day and when I arrived, I had a surprise there as well, all my friends and loved ones were hiding in a room, I was so happy!!!

I had an amazing time… Very memorable birthday. And a very memorable year. I got my first boyfriend at 22 and it was the best year of my life.

I have no idea. Most likely, my relatives came to the house and we had cake & ice cream and I opened my gifts and read my cards and then we played cards the rest of the night.
I KNOW what I did for my 21st: I just got a job at Cedar Point two weeks before so, I was living there just outside the park and, a few people in my family drove out (4 hours away) to spend the day with me. Other than that, most birthdays are exactly the same. The only ones that were different were a couple in the `80's and `90's when I was in the band and they might make a big deal out of it but, most often, that never happened, either.

It was a really hard time in my life. School was going really badly for me and my girlfriend lived 1500 miles away and I was really unsure about the future. My father gave me a 50 dollar bill for my birthday. I went to a restaurant by myseld and got really drunk.

On my 22nd birthday, I went to a friends wedding and had a torrid tryst at the hotel both before and after the wedding. It was a memorable celebration. I sometimes see pictures of that wedding and it takes me back.
