This usually happens because you breathe through your mouth instead of through your nose. However, there is also a possibility that you are snoring too.. I mean, that doesn't matter as long as you get a fruitful sleep.

Maybe I don't know I never seen that weird stuff on my mouth when I sleep so I assume I do not, I do snore tho without a fan or I'm super tired af

Only if I have a stuffy nose that I have to breath with my mouth and i tend to sleep on stomach or on the sides. I just can't be helped tho. But if I'm well, good thing I don't.
