People who grew up in climate without winter, do you wish you had it or happy without it?

I wonder this because even though I love winter. I can understand it would be less hassle with changing the closet every year with winter clothes. And there would be less shopping needed for clothes and problaby less sickness due to weather change alone.🤔🙂

I like cold weather, but I also like mangoes... I don't think hard long winter are appealing. Milder winters would be OK with snow every few years like in some southern states. If I want to play in the snow and snow board I an always watch the weather and then catch a flight to were the snow is in 1-3 hours.

I have winter now. I lived without it for a while where I worked and didn't have much of one growing up. Now that I actually have 4 full seasons I absolutely love it

I grew up with winter/snow/cold but have lived in the south for the last 8 years without winter. Thankfully moving back up north so will have more snow and winter then I've ever experienced in my life. So excited for it! I hate living without a real winter

I grew up in New Orleans, where on a terribly rare occasion we get a light snow. However, I've also lived in Saratoga Springs, NY and DeKalb, IL during two separate winters.

Snow is only pretty the first 24 hours. When it lingers on the ground it becomes dirty and slushy and hard-crusted, and the salt on the roads causes the metal on your car to rust unless you wash your car when it's 10 degrees outside. And everybody does. It's the only way to prevent it turning into metal swiss cheese.

It's grueling to live through harsh winters. Driving is dangerous, you need winter tires, boots, clothes. I fell a lot on sidewalks. I got pneumonia during my first winter because everyone where I worked was sick. You can't be out and about to avoid cabin fevers: in other words, you're stuck inside, so illnesses spread. I was extremely ill for several weeks. This was when I was 29.

You can't freeze to death in the heat. You simply drink water and replenishing hydration drinks and keep out of the sun during the hottest times of the day.

Postcard winter is lovely. Living in winter, not so much.

I like so many others in my age range, have seen the climate changing rapidly from when we used to have heavy snow for days, to just a covering of snow, and then to no snow at all. And i miss the snow in winters, i think 2014 was the first winter without snow in the UK in my lifetime and now it is every year. It was the summer before that when we started seeing temps above 32C as the norm. Every year after that temps above 32C. before that i can remember just two summers above that threshold.

I grew up in California and no we never got a real and true winter. So, when left and moved around I really loved the snow in winter and all that. But if you have never really and truly been snowed in for weeks, let me tell you it's changes your opinion.

If you never experienced a real and true ice storm, or weeks of negative 30 below wind chill... I am telling you... if you never ever been really cold, like I am talking seriously cold. Or you can't leave your house without 3 inches of ice covering anything, people sliding down street... cars are just mounds of snow randomly scatter along the roadside... if you have never experienced this then yeah... screw the snow California winters are the best.

I grew up in an area without winter. Starting in my 30's I began taking winter vacations in areas where there is snow. Mainly to get into cross country skiing. However I'm not sure I'd want to actually live in those areas. I do like visiting them.

When it is hot and humid out, it is very difficult to stay cool.

When it is cold out, it is easier to stay warm and comfortable with enough layers of clothing that you can remove when getting too hot, and then add back as you become colder.

Thailand - hopefully my future new home - does not have winter. I will miss it for sure but it's not like it is gonna sting much when I'll get all the perks of living in Thailand. Including the girls that still love men (instead of hating them) 😍😍😍

Being fortunate enough to experience both, snow is lovely for 2 days. Then I’m over it. Especially when it’s extremely cold and snow basically hurts. Soft snow yes! That’s crusty painful bs, hard pass.

I love the cool days of October and November and even a few days in December but that is about it. Screw all the 2 degree days in Jan and Feb

Grew up in the Deep South USA, yes I have a heavy southern accent too lol, but the town I grew up in was called Summerville, cuz it was hot all year round. Touched snow once, it was too cold. Also I don’t like whenever it gets really cold, like below freezing, that’s painful.

We get winter in the UK. It's cold and depressing. The chances of getting snow every year is getting smaller and smaller. Then when it does snow, it rains. Then you get black ice and slush 😩

For me because I am quite fortunate, yeah I do wish. But on the other hand it's going to affect the economy since a lot of people here are quite poor living in broken houses and the government will have a hard time supporting lots of them.
