Would you agree with a father who became wealthy and threw his children out to fend for themselves?

It's one thing to say okay you're past an age in which your dad should be supporting you it's another one to figuratively literally say go fend for yourself and be poor because I made it on my own so you should too.

I've never seen that happen in rich families.

That does happen occasionally, but in my admittedly limited experience, it's much more often than the kid is rebellious and ungrateful rather than the parent just being a jerk. Again, not saying that there are no bad parents - there are - but most people who have built wealth from nothing are pretty good with people. Second or third generation wealthy, who never struggled, are more likely to be a problem.

It depends. If it's a son he needs to get threw hard times and man up. Men are build not made. I would send my son on an island with nothing, but books and martial arts for his entertainment.

If I let my son sit around and play Roblox he's going to an ordinary guy who's an unemployed bum. So I he has to learn to make it on his own.

If it's a daughter that's okay I will spoil her. A girl is different. She'll be fine living in the house.

yes its a good thing. spoiled children dont have a good life. they waist their life messing about and waiting for their parents to die to inherit their money

He lets my step mother spend on things where she's literally wasting money so it's okay to support a spoiled gold digger but the children can be thrown out.

at the end of the day its better for you in the long run because not only you will learn to make your own money and be independent you will also inherit more of your dads money at the end. why would you want to depend on someone else.

I doubt it I am pretty sure he's going to set it up to the gold digger.

Also, I do want to be independent but I don't appreciate being thrown out of nowhere.

It takes time and effort to build your life/make your money how can I do that when I'm being blindsided.

i was in a similar situation. you can't change other people even if they are wrong. this is the type of situations you just have to accept as it is even if its unfair. getting upset over it isn't gonna give you money and a house and isn't gonna make your dad give you his money. i would say its time to start doing research on how to fund for yourself and be independent.

Npo, you have a responsibility to support your kid and make sure they can be self sufficient. Once my kids graduated from college they had one more year to live at home for free then they had to start paying board. They all moved out at that point.
