What are some polite ways to end a conversation when you don't have a good excuse to close the dialogue?

I'm talking to a super polite person who I think might be afraid to be rude so I am not sure they will tell me when they want the conversation to end. How do I end a conversation when I don't have a reason to leave?

Try telling them that you really like talking to them, but you have to do something else rn, or tell them that you've had a rough day, and you'll be happy to finish it over text or some other time, and that you have to go home now.

Tell him you will talk to him very soon as you gotta go for shopping or some house chores, walking, gym etc, etc... 😄

I like to be kind of vague but specific with my intentions. I might say, I got to go do something. Or I've got to handle some business. If they take it the wrong way then I really don't care.
