Would probably keep it. After the BS the FBI Is pulling in Pennsylvania on the suspected Civil War gold shipment that someone had thought they found.
The FBI sealed off the area and denies finding anything. But they called in armored trucks! Makes you wonder?

If it looked old and washed away with the sea then finders keepers otherwise just return it in but do expect a reward)). Here we are given cash rewards if you find money of sizable amount being returned from owners. It's not always but it happens)).

If you're taking about a doubloon from an ancient shipwreck that just washed up on the beach, I'd probably keep it and add it to me coin collection.
