Have you ever felt like an outcast?

All the time, even as an adult.

When you don't act, look, or have similar interests to others around you, it can definitely make you feel like you don't belong or you're just "there." Up until I graduated college, I was basically an outcast.

You ever had friends or knew people, but you never really fit in with them? You talked to them, hung out together, but you still didn't really mesh with the group?

... that was me.

Of course, being young, stupid, and just happy to have people to chat with, I didn't really question said friendships. But now that I'm older, everyone I grew up with? I don't talk to anymore. And that's because I realize outside of school or work, we had nothing in common. Even today, I'm sort of that way. I talk to people, but it's really hard for me to find people I really connect or enjoy talking to, so I'm just "there."

And no, it's not necessarily a bad thing. It just means it's harder for outcasts to really find people that understand or get us... usually other outcasts.

Rarely but I felt out of place.

When I was a freshman in university, I did not quite fit in, the other students there were from rich families and could afford the things I never could.

I felt like I was somehow less than them.

Then I learned to not care and earned my place the way I was.

Yes most of my school time because I was neither into video games nor sports and most of my class mates were in one or the other so most of school friendships were functional meaning they had a purpose based on school.

It happens. i feel like it used to be like 90% "normal" people and 10% weird. Now it's like 90% bat shit crazy and alternating % norm a day weird. Also I'd say just having common sense alone will Def Gove that feeling
